DOG POISONING PETITION |
|
After reading a report in the local newspaper, The Post, and the subsequent article by Bechet from Villapet, we are looking for a way forward to prevent more incidents of poisoning. A group of concerned animal lovers and owners has decided to start a petition, which will be presented to the governor of Marmaris. This will show our support for him in the steps he intends to take to avoid further distress to the community which has lost beloved pets and those concerned with animal welfare.
The poison is an agricultural pest control used by fruit farmers and our intention is to ask that access to this product should be limited to only those people who have a valid requirement. The mechanics of this will be worked out by the governor and police authorities.
If you feel, as we do, that any small step we take could result in preventing unnecessary deaths of animals then please add your support by signing the petition in Yacht Marina reception, or by emailing the Porthole. |

Yacht Marina has installed a new satellite system which will give access to BBC sports channels. This means that the 6 Nations Rugby and other sporting events will be shown in the bar. For the duration of the Rugby coverage Mr Şener has given permission for the restaurant to serve bar snacks in the bar! Teşekur ederim, Şener bey. In addition Ahmed the head chef has been refining his Yorkshire Puddings and the Yacht Marina restaurant is happy to announce the long awaited arrival of Sunday Roast Dinners. |

Four highly creative professionals have pooled their skills using the latest cutting-edge technology to bring us The Porthole Kids! It was only a matter of time before the print edition of The Porthole would be faced with stiff competition and now it seems that The Porthole Kids is set to take over the marina. The crack team of web developers, gaming experts and photographers has been officially named as Tom and George from 'Cowrie' and Edward and AJ of 'Pania'. Tom, the web manager, acts as co-ordinator of web content, whilst his brother George collates the all-important photographs. Meanwhile Edward is busy rounding up online games for his brother AJ to test and review. How they find the time in between schooling and watching videos is anyone's guess but this website is set to grow and grow. The website isn't just games, however. It covers events such as the Kids Stars Night and Birthday Bowling. Continued on page 5... |
